Ever since she landed up in pro tennis world, this audacious saucy hyd based lassy has topped the hit list of these conservative people.These bastards, have nothing more to do, but love to see thr non-sense faces on stupid box.a spy cam cud well reveal, how much they care bout islam.

oh nice, so what do you expect her to wear, a burka !! Oh come on, next they'll say, its a shame on her to step outside her home, but she should remain in thr and help her mother fix mutton biryanbi for all of them.
But to my utter surprise, the ladies supported her decision, which i think is partially a way to vent out thier rebeleous self.I couldn't agree more to them, when they consider teen sensation, as an idol.She made this sport, what leander paes and bhupathi couln't make even after winning medals at olympics and even wimbledon, atleast in india.
But what actually pissed me off, was the statements people gave in her support.Some say, its a requirement of the game, and you just cant play without being dressed like tht.
What the fuck !! . Havent they ever wondered why no one ever saw, underpants of Roger Federer, while he is serving. Thats because , he wear shorts.And i cant figure out any valid reason, to assume ,wearing shorts is affecting his game, or as a matter of fact, game of any top notch male player.
So why not a female tennis player play the game wearing a short, while a male player can,and better than most of them.Glamour is also one of the driving force, in ladies tennis, and better they accept it freely. Its been hailed by russian barbie dolls with racquets, and its high time, indians too should accept it.
Men are physically more powerful, as nature intended them to be, and this makes thr game faster, and more fun to watch. But female tennis, is never so fast*william sisters are not female*, so never much exciting. And sex appeal, always is an integral part of femmes, so why not in tennis.Girls are naturally more fashion conscious than man, no one could aegue upon that.
I wanted Sania to say,"You all enjoy, watching mallika sherawat, dancing in bikini, but cant appreciate, me winnning, few grandslam matches. And i am not specially provocative, but lives with a fashion at par.Female tennis player are fashion conscious, and so am i.If its still a problem, i cant help it."
And deep in thr heart, all gurls want man to appreciate them, lure them.Its a matter of courage, who accepts it. You do it, missy. That i feel, will put a full stop on all the allegations.

Hey Well written,
I had a pissed off discussion online with one of her supporters - and I had argued in a like manner. I loved the post.
I don't know why people don't accept marketing to a big part of the athelete life and sexy sells.
She will be remembered for her tennis but she will catch the eyes of endorsers by being sexy.
I wish could watch more of her games. top

well I agree on all that u have said.But there has always been adequate attention to womens tennis.People like Kournikova has bought much more attention.I think it good for the game.

@ isis : dudette !! showing skin is not a compensation for game, but for charm of women tennis, atleast to me, it goves one more reason to watch them play..only if fedrer or roddick or agassi is not playing on other court.

Good topic for your blog. Finally a post to which I can respond without the usual platitudes of "nice" & "cool", along with a few smileys thrown in.
About the post, I agree AND disagree with you, in parts. Different parts, of course (not being schizophrenic).
As far as your dissing of these mullah-types goes... bang on. These guys should stick to growing their beards longer & longer, and seeking their 15 mins of fame by appearing on Zee TV-style shariat adalats. If we begin to listen to these guys, I doubt any of us would be able to retain their sanity.
About the shorts - bang on again, but for completely different reasons from yours. Why CAN'T women tennis players play on the court wearing shorts, like guys do? Short skirts on tennis courts are just the non-deviant evolutionary specimen of the long, flowing dresses female players used to wear waaaay back in time. As times changed, the hemlines inched up but the apparel remained essentially the same - a skirt. Which is stupid, because if men can play in shorts, women should also be able to. The "glamour" quotient of it is crap. I doubt that if my female friends & I want to see Federer's briefs coz we find it 'glamorous', tennis federations around the globe would oblige us by requiring men to wear kilts. Kilts... skirts... same difference. What say?

is as sexist as statements come to be. This is the typical excuse guys adopt when they come across a female who's taller, or stronger (or both) than them, because a taller, stronger female PRECISELY DEBUNKS their smug beliefs like "men are physically more powerful".
Sex appeal in female sports is apparent ONLY because there are powerful sponsorship lobbies (all of them dominated by men) which expects men to play sports, and women to accessorise.
And finally!

@ evolution of skirts, if you have seen the match of sharapove and hantuchova yesterday, you wud have agreed more to me. sharapova was wearing a frilled skirt wid a fluffy bulk, which started just below her breasts,all the way to two inch dwn her underpants.i cant possibly imagine a reason, which made tht dress more streamlined, andrather i was wondering that it was doing nothing but restrict her movements. and hantuchova, she is the only one to wear shorts, but her shorts are real shorts.you could'nt possibly rule out glamour out of thr outfits. these russin fed. damsles and williams sisters, luv to wear the image of sexy leggos.

chanced upon your post.. wearing (or not)what one wants is an individual decision. If she wears it for comfort or an appeal - her volition.
williams sisters - totally female..definitely more powerful than any normal man..and thatz why you slander them. whay cant men accept the fact that a female can also be powerful. aah..pity.
nature did not create men to be "more" powerful. There are numerous women labourers who are far more strong than those gel smeared, tight t shirt wearing so called hep urban youth. Its just that men sometimes get beastly and think that is an assertion of power!
It is the common notion in INDIA - centuries of social conditioning- which projects women as being meek.
hope at least the present generation awakens to some non-chauvinistic thinking!
